VOC conducted exposure visit to the member of Child Development Khazana (CDK) and Child Health Cooperative (CHC) at Child Welfare Scheme Nepal (CWSN), Pokhara and Youth Society Nepal (YSN), Chitwan from 29th July to 1st August, 2015. 14 children from 4 different CDK branches of VOC participated in the program. The objective of the visit was to enhance a capacity of children in CDK & CHC management and exchange the experiences between children of other CDK member organization.
Child Development Khazana (CDK) is initiated by Butterflies, India in 2004 which is a registered voluntary organization working with vulnerable groups of children since 1989. The objective of CDK is to promote life skills education in democratic participation, leadership, prioritizing needs, budgeting, vocational/technical skill, cooperative management, banking principles, basics in management principles and in accountancy, providing saving/credit facilities and promoting entrepreneurship. It has a strong children's participation approach in its programming characterized by focus on the needs of the children, allowing the children to define their own priorities and concerns, come up with their own solutions and implement their own programs.
Voice of Children (VOC) is one of the CDK and CHC member organizations since 2013. After participating in many workshops and training, it has decided to initiate child cooperative activities in different components of street children program. It has 4 CDK activities branches at the moment.
